Industry Reports
Below are links to Pennsylvania's 2006 Creative Industries reports—one for every state legislative district in
Pennsylvania. These are sophisticated mapping and statistical reports that are clear and concise, and show the number of
nonprofit and for-profit arts businesses and the people they employ. Each report is three pages in length and comes to
you as an Adobe Acrobat file (pdf). The source for our data is Dun & Bradstreet—widely acknowledged as the leading source
for business information in the U.S. Also included is a Creative Industries report for the entire Commonwealth.
The first page describes the creative industries, national trends, and features a color map of the legislative
district (including the legislator’s name) with dots representing each arts business; the second page provides a table
listing the number of arts businesses and employees in the district; the third page contains a table summarizing the
percentage of changes from 2004 to 2006 in Creative Industries businesses and employees in that district.
The reports were prepared by Americans for the Arts through a grant by the David and Lucille Packard Foundation.
Please feel free to copy and distribute these. If you have any questions about the reports, contact Jenny Hershour
