In 1979 a group of citizens established an organization which was committed to promoting and advocating for the arts in Pennsylvania. That organization became Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania, the only statewide multidisciplinary arts organization committed to advancing the arts in Pennsylvania through advocacy, programs, and services.
Governor Edward G. Rendell proposed a $500,000 increase to the PCA budget in his FY08-09 budget address to the PA General Assembly.
